Family House MR, Krk
The house was designed as a single-storey energy-efficient building and is dug into the ground for additional energy savings, leaving only one side exposed. The house is accessed from the roof by an exterior staircase to the north. The roof is flat, extensive, green. Since the house is designed as a low-energy building, exterior walls have a 16 cm XPS insulation and 25 cm for the roof.
The house has aluminium window frames with triple insulating glass. Reinforced concrete walls are left visible while the external staircase is made in stone. Roller shutters provide protection from the sun.
The house is planned for a normal functioning of the so-called ‘insular’ operating condition, i.e. without direct connection to the municipal plumbing, sewage and electricity systems. It only requires a regular supply of liquefied petroleum gas and drinking water from the public water supply system as required.
