Family House Marina
The main project assignment is a reconstruction of a family house located in Kaštilac. The house is situated within the spatial boundaries of the urban core of the town of Kaštel Gomilica protected by the decision of the Ministry of Culture.
The house occupies the entire surface area of the parcel. The existing family house consists of the ground floor, the first floor and the attic. The project envisages the reconstruction in existing overall dimensions.
The project idea represents the half-storeys that will transform a small house into a large one creating a quality living space of 13 m2. Circumventing the classical hierarchy and dividing the house on the horizontal plane, the project generates a series of half-storeys that further creates a sense of continuity and integrity. The user does not feel the rooms but he/she feels the house. The house that is rising is one large room and also the room that is rising is one small house. Additional benefits are better utilization of the small windows size and visual cohesion throughout the house.
