Villa Kuk
The building is special due to its architectural treatment, it is immersed in an existing stone boulder and the western and eastern façades are in the rock. Only the northern and southern façades are visible. The paint and the material of the northern side merged with a massive rock and the only opening on the façade is the front door. The southern façade is maximally glazed with a sea view and yet not visible since it is located at 110 m above the sea level on a steep terrain.
Due to the transformation of the restaurant into the luxurious holiday house in the new project we added the new storey expanding the buried part of the basement. In the new project, because of the depth of the building, the atrium is added for the additional light. The height of the building does not exceed the height of the rock.
This project assignment is the reconstruction and upgrading of buildings in Makarska, in the area of Veliko Brdo known as Kuk. The complex consists of the main building (former restaurant), auxiliary facilities (pantry), and nine foundations as the remains of ground motel units, the remains of bungalow facilities.
On the northern side, the parcel is bordered by the main road and on that side the access road to the parcel is located. On the remaining sides, the parcel is bordered by private parcels.
The main part of this villa is located between two stone boulders. The ground plan surface area of the existing building is approximately 8.80 x 22.40 m. It consists of the ground floor and basement. The roof surface has been used as a restaurant terrace.
